4 Incredible iPad Bags- Hip iPad Protection

One of the great things about the iPad is the small footprint. Thinner, lighter, and more flexible than a Netbook, the iPad is a great travel companion. The problem is what do you carry it in? You certainly don’t need an oversized clumsy computer bag. Yet, generic Netbook sleeves don’t leave much room for accessories, or even a bottle of water. So what is a hip tech geek to do?
A new bread of bags are finally hitting the market in support of the iPad. They provide a trimmer footprint while still offering room for accessories and on-the-road treats. Below are four new creations that have caught my eye. Two from tried-and-true designers (Tom Bihn and Timbuk2) and one from a new comer to the industry (Temple Bags).
I am a big fan of Timbuk2. They have a diverse line of luggage, backpacks, mailbags, and iPad bags. If you are looking for durable light weight solutions with a flair for color, its hard to beat these guys. I personally own five of their products. One of my mailbags has been in action since 2003 and still going strong.
There are two creations by Timbuk2 that I think nock it out of the park for iPad users.
Timbuk2 Freestyle Laptop Messenger Bag
This bag is a great for users who want extra room for books, water, and maybe even a lunch. It is probably the largest the four, but still very stealth and convenient. It is also currently on sale at Amazon.

For those folks looking for a more minimalist approach checkout the sleeve.
Timbuk2 Quickie Laptop Sleeve
The sleeve is available in four sizes. The “small” provides plenty of space for the iPad. With external pockets there is also room for keys, phone, etc. You even have enough room in the center compartment for a Bluetooth keyboard. This offering is also on sale at Amazon.

Tom Bihn Ristretto for iPad

Tom Bihn, well know for quality luggage, has released a very interesting solution. The Ristretto is a terrific vertical format with plenty of storage space for necessities. The bag is functional, yet great looking with a creative design.
Temple Re-purposed iPad Case
Last, but far from least is the Re-purposed iPad Case by Temple Bags. This is a beautifully crafted bag. Made from canvas and leather, it is a work of art.
“The Brown leather & military re-purposed iPad case is a great way to carry and protect your iPad. It’s your chance to own a piece of history as the canvas we use was once used in WWII.”
It is the most pricy of the four offerings at $148.00, but makes a real statement.

Any of these bags would make a great home for your iPad. For overall value, the Timbuk2 offerings are great solutions. They are priced right and incredibly durable.
