Wining the Lottery with OmniFocus

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

Well folks, my number was finally called to be part of the Beta testing of OmniFocus. It has been a seemingly long wait, but it was worth it.

For those who are not familiar with OmniFocus, please read my previous post on the product, and view Ethan Schoonover’s screencast.

The application is still a little rough around the edges, but its future is brilliant. Even at this early stage of development the product is very usable and offers features that are not available on more mature alternatives. The biggest issue I have right now is the lack or proper printing support. Only rudimentary support is available, but it is enough to get a list of Contexts before I head out the door.

Synchronization with iCal was added yesterday and seems to be working fine. Updated builds have been coming out quicker than I can keep up with them– development is moving fast.

Overall, this is going to be one sweet application. I imported my KGTD file last night and have been working with it all day. This is just another example of the quality and creativity that comes out of the Omni Group.
